A 26-year-old man was arrested in Pelican Park on Monday afternoon 23 March, after police uncovered suspected stolen property at a residence in Fish Street.
Members of Operation Shanela II acted on information received about stolen items allegedly being kept at the address. Upon searching the premises, officers discovered several valuables, including three digital cameras, a PlayStation console with four controllers, and four cellphones.
According to police, the man found inside the house was unable to provide a satisfactory explanation for the possession of the items. He was subsequently arrested on charges of possession of presumed stolen property.
The suspect is expected to appear in the Wynberg Magistrates’ Court once formal charges have been finalised.
Police have not yet confirmed whether the recovered items have been linked to specific theft cases, but investigations are ongoing.
