Paarl martial-arts fighter, Adrian “Rayo” Sanchez, won his Extreme Fighting Championship (EFC) fight in Johannesburg this past weekend with a technical knock-out. The professional athlete already has 11 MMA (Mixed Martial Arts) fights under his belt. The EFC is the biggest MMA promotion in Africa. Sanchez is fighting out of the recently founded Yokai MMA Academy in Paarl, where he also teaches boxing and Muay Thai classes. He is coached by Cameron Pritchard, head coach at Yokai MMA. members of the public and children who want to speak to Sanchez are welcome to visit him at the academy at 10 Fabriek Street, Lemoenkloof. With this win Rayo is aiming at following the footsteps of SA world champ Dricus du Plessis, who very much kicked off his illustrious career in the same fashion.
