It has been a disastrous week in our history with level 6 of load shedding being dumped on us.
For a small business owner such as myself who is then relying on a generator, it is a nightmare, especially taking into account the ever rising cost of fuel.
Eskom’s shortcomings and criminal activities among its employees have been much publicised over the past few years. And that is exactly why municipalities should be looking at alternative power sources. But, I ask you with tears in my eyes, what has our municipality been doing about this?
For the last two years there have only been talks about this, but has DM actually lifted a finger and installed a single solar panel? Or set up a system yet to buy in power from wind farms, etc.?
I think not.
Every time we hear “City of Excellence”, I choke on my tea.
