Old Johannesburg Warehouse Auctioneers continue to surprise. Tomorrow (4 March) there is a clubhouse and office evacuation auction online.
Altogether 288 lots have been put together over a good few years. The private owner is moving and saw this as the ideal solution. From retro furniture, classic camera equipment, art, rugs, modern lighting, clocks, not to mention the classic cars – including a 1983 Mini Cooper. For the rest of the weekend, 5-7 March, the Cape Winelands will host its first auction of the year. One of the biggest Paarl sales by far, the auction includes almost every category under the sun with 1 800 lots going on auction.
The auction includes English, continental, Africana (including children’s chairs) and medieval furniture, Dutch-import pieces, French country furniture, lovely rugs, massive collection of scale models, 1:18, Rorke’s drivetrains, Ceramics (oriental, Royal Doulton, Meissen). Amid all this fun are 160 lots of traditional and contemporary art by the likes of Robert Slingsby, JH Pierneef, Gregoire Boonzaier, Chris Tugwell, Frans Claerhout, to name a few. International artwork will be showcased too.
Myriad jewellery, 400 lots of them, including watches, designer handbags and sunglasses, are scattered throughout the auction with many beautiful Victorian, Art Nouveau, Art Deco, Antique and Modern pieces included. Diamonds and other loose gemstones can also be found. For the watch collectors, Breitling, Rolex, Omega, Tag Heuer, Panerai and other names will be featured.
All three days of auctioning take place online, and each day starts at 09:00. Viewing can be done in person on the premises from Friday 4 March, 09:00-15:30, and the public is welcome to view the items at Toeka Warehouse, Estate Brahms, Windmeul. Staff will be on site to assist.
