Paarl police are seeking two men for questioning in relation to a robbery at a Pick n Pay Express Shop on Sunday evening.
Police spokesperson, Capt Louise du Plessis says the incident happened around 22:24 at a local petrol station in Jan van Riebeeck Drive.
“The suspects had allegedly entered the premises and wandered through the shop when one suspect pointed at a cashier with a firearm and demanded cash and cigarettes. The suspects fled the scene on foot.”
This followed after news circulated about another attempted robbery at Rembrandt Mall earlier that day.
“Three armed men were seen in a clothing shop at a local mall in the CBD,” says Du Plessis. “The store’s staff reacted quickly and pressed the panic button causing the suspects to flee.”
In this case, however, a case was not lodged at Paarl police since a robbery did not take place.
