Experience Tokara in all its autumnal splendour when this acclaimed Stellenbosch family wine and olive estate opens its extensive farm garden to the public on Saturday 22 April.
Meander through tranquil walks dotted by sculptures from local artists while taking in the magnificent vistas over the large garden dam. Discover the inspiring vegetable garden, wetlands and gurgling mountain streams.
The latest addition to the farm’s collection of natural marvels is the indigenous Adamastor Moss Garden that has taken shape over the past few years.
See how local sandstone and granite blend with indigenous mosses and fynbos to recreate the ambiance of an ancient Japanese garden.
The wide variety of plants on sale from indigenous flora, such as fynbos and proteas to the more exotic, will appeal to all garden enthusiasts, but make sure to arrive early.
Besides coffee and other refreshments, Tokara will be well represented with their elegant wines and award-winning extra virgin olive oils.
Tickets will only be available on the day, at the farm gate.
Entrance is R50 per person in aid of a local charity. Free entry for children. Gates open at 08:00 with last entry at 15:30. No pets allowed. Picnics are unfortunately not permitted.
