The World Photography Organisation is presenting a youth photography competition every month from 1 June until 31 December.

Youths aged 12 to 19 years old can submit up to three images that were taken in 2021 relating to the specific month’s theme.

There are seven themes to inspire and there are four competitions and four themes. These embrace genres such as wildlife, landscape, portraiture, still life and street photography.

Every month a shortlist (including the winner) of up to 10 photographers will be celebrated on the World Photography Organisation’s Instagram feed and blog.

Their mission is to support photographers worldwide, to celebrate and show their work as well as nurture the medium of photography on a global scale.

Each monthly winner will be promoted in the organisation’s weekly newsletter and then go on to stand a chance of winning the overall Youth Photographer of the Year title in April 2022.

Not only does the youth winner receive international recognition and exposure, they will also enjoy a range of Sony digital imaging equipment to develop their vision.

September’s theme is “Culture and Travel” and entries open on 1 September and close on 30 September. For this month entrants are asked to submit those images that have enriched and expanded their appreciation of the world and its people.

Be it immersing in your local culture, marvelling at spectacular sights (near or far) or capturing a unique experience away from home, show your best culture and travel photographs.

Note that colour and an individual point of view is key here.

Photographers can enter up to three images per month. For more information or to enter September’s competition visit worldphoto.org/sony-world-photography-awards/youth.
