This summer proved to get the better of most in the Drakenstein Valley, especially since burglars could not handle the heat and stole their own swimming pool.

This comes in a report from Paarl police’s spokesperson Capt Louise du Plessis.

She said: “A local swimming pool business became a victim of burglary on 25 February where a swimming pool and pool pump to the value of about R10 000 was stolen from the premises.”

Du Plessis added that the complainant had arrived at the business premises on the morning of 26 February and discovered that a window had been broken, allegedly thrown with a large stone.

“The complainant then discovered that the items were stolen.” Anyone with information regarding the incident is asked to contact the Paarl police on 021 807 4141 or 021 807 4015.
