This
weekend residents can look forward to some entertainment in town.
- Two of
Frank Pietersen Music Centre’s learners, Matthew Lamprecht (violin) and Kyrah
Adams (xylophone), were chosen to take part in the Concerto Festival of the
Hugo Lambrecht Music Centre in Parow, Cape Town. Kyrah, Matthew and eight other
instrumentalists from all over the Western Cape and even from Durban, performed
with the Hugo Lambrecht Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Liam Burden. The
programme, which includes concerti by Vivaldi, Gluck, Cimarosa, Weissenborn,
Mendelssohn, Rachmaninov, Rodrigo and Kabalevsky, for piano, violin, oboe,
bassoon, guitar and xylophone will be aired on 5 November at 20:00. Tickets to

visitors will get to know the glittering night sky – specifically Saturn –
better during the Afrikaans Language Museum and Monument’s first summer picnic
on Paarl Mountain on Saturday, 6 November. Time: 18:00- 22:30. Entrance fee is
R50 per adult and R10 for under-18s; tickets are available at Computicket or

essential to ensure sufficient telescopes. Unfortunately, Stargazing picnics

6 November at 19:00 the Bôrdienghuis Theatre in Wellington presents a Cat
Stevens tribute show with well-known Paarl singer, Craig Stott. Tickets cost

will be on sale from 17:00. Gian Groen will be on stage on 20 November. Tickets
cost R150. - Paarl
singer and songwriter Triveno Smith will launch his new album on Saturday 6
November at the Berg River Brewery in Paarl. Doors will open from 14:30 and the
show will start at 16:00, with comedian John Koopman, also known as Mr Cooper. Afterwards,
