On Thursday 3 March I had to go to the traffic department in Dal Josaphat to renew my Public Drivers Permit (PDP), as I do each year.
It has in the past taken me just less than an hour, in and out of the centre, but I was shocked this time, with my latest visit, at the deterioration of the centre.
I have read and heard many complaints about the traffic centre over the past year and was hoping that the municipality would have acted to rectify these, but obviously, as with most things in our valley, this has fallen on deaf ears.
On Thursday I sat in a very dirty waiting room waiting for four hours just to renew my PDP.
And this has to be done within my working hours, so I lose a huge amount of productivity.
Is this the City of Excellence which the municipality brags about?
I think not. Drakenstein sucks – to say the least.
