The day after the entire world celebrated Valentine’s I saw a meme that read: “Better not see anyone complaining they didn’t get flowers for Valentine’s Day when you’ve all been singing about buying your own for two weeks.”

This in reference to Miley Cyrus’ new hit song “Flowers”, known as the boldly feminist revenge song inspired by her divorce from Liam Hemsworth. This got me thinking of how modern-day women, or most third-wave feminists, claim chivalry from our male counterparts has died. But one could argue radical feminism today not only obscures romance, but has killed chivalry.

Oh the irony of how women deny their deep loving desires of romantic spoils, while claiming they “need no man”! How sad to deny that you might need someone, and God forbid it be a man with traditional charm.

With this I’d like to encourage young men everywhere: Do not let delusional women tell you that romantic gestures like buying flowers or opening her door is “sexist”. Revive chivalry for those who respect traditional courtship.
