The Paarl Wine Route proudly hosted its second international wine event on November 15 at the picturesque Brookdale Estate. Over 40 esteemed International Masters of Wine gathered to indulge in the rich and diverse offerings of Paarl’s finest wineries.

The feedback from the event has been resoundingly positive, with those attending expressing their admiration for the exceptional quality of wines produced in the region.

The Paarl Wine Route embarked on a strategic journey at the beginning of 2023, aiming to firmly establish Paarl as a hub for top-tier wine production. A key milestone in this pursuit was the formation of the Winemakers and Viticulturist Forum. This forum’s primary objective is to develop a comprehensive strategic plan that positions the Paarl District prominently on the global wine map and capitalises on the well-deserved accolades bestowed upon local producers.

Luan Aucamp, Chair of the Paarl Wine Route Board, remarked “the Paarl Wine Route is undeniably claiming its rightful place in the South African wine industry.

“We are excited about our future plans and sincerely appreciate the active participation of our members in events such as the International Master of Wine and Sommelier Symposium. These gatherings serve as exceptional platforms to showcase the outstanding quality of our wines.”

The positive reception from international experts underscores the commitment of the Paarl Wine Route to excellence and innovation in the world of wine. As the region continues to gain recognition, both locally and globally, wine enthusiasts can expect more exciting developments and exceptional vintages from Paarl’s dynamic winemaking community.
