As we bid the Festive Season farewell, Paarl police will continue various operations in the area.
According to Paarl police spokesperson Capt Louise du Plessis, four arrests were made for drunken driving by the local traffic department at a roadblock on the N1 while 10 were made by Paarl police for possession of drugs over the weekend of 13 to 15 January.
“Paarl police continues to warn all members of the public to be extra careful at ATMs in the Paarl area,” she said.
“ATM fraud incidents are occurring at machines in the malls, shopping centres and bank ATMs.”The following guidelines should be used at ATMs:.Never withdraw money from an ATM alone; if not accompanied by someone, ask the security or a bank assistant to stand with you.. Ensure your surroundings are safe before inserting your card.. If you feel unsafe at an ATM, rather withdraw cash from a till point at a grocery store or shopping mall.. Immediately block your card with your bank as soon as someone attempts to interrupt your withdrawal.
