The Paarl Home Affairs is currently open as per usual after its temporary closure due to the fire.

The opening hours are 08:00-15:30, Monday to Friday.

The office will, however, render limited services due to expected high-volume influx caused by the closure.

Take note of the following:

  • No walk-in applications for smart card identification documents (IDs) or passports. These applicants are advised to visit our website www.dha.gov.za under BABS calender/branch booking for an online booking.
  • Cut-off for citizenship, amendment and late registration of birth is 12:00.
  • The collection of smart-card IDs and passports is open.
  • Applicants who were evacuated during the fire must have their number issued by Home Affairs as proof.
  • Birth, death, marriage and registration of divorce are welcome.
  • No temporary IDs without proof of permanent ID, and an affidavit from the police will be allowed.
  • Birth registrations within 30 days are to be done at Paarl Provincial Hospital on Saturdays and Sundays from 08:00 to 12:00, when a Home Affairs official is present.
