On Saturday 27 August at 19:00 the Frank Pietersen Music Centre (FPMC) will for the first time in three years once again host their annual gala concert in the Paarl Town Hall.
Residents of Drakenstein are invited to attend the concert and join the centre in celebrating the fact that all groups /ensembles and instrumentalists can at last share the stage at an event where parents and friends of FPMC are allowed to be in the hall together.
Come and listen to the music centre’s junior strings and percussion learners, who have never experienced a concert in the town hall, the wonderful and exciting windband conducted by new brass teacher Cameron Hofmeester, as well as the intermediate strings and percussion ensemble.
This orchestra is conducted by Carin Thompson and will feature music by Coldplay and other exciting works. The senior strings, directed from the piano by Hadley Duminy, will show you what violinists can do. All four ensembles received cum laude in the Paarl Valley Eisteddfod’s orchestra section recently.
This is a concert that everyone will be able to enjoy. There will also be some solos featuring the centre’s most senior learners, and small ensembles as well as the African percussion ensemble.
Tickets at R50 for adults and R20 for pensioners and learners can be purchased at the music centre office or at the door. For more information, call 021 872 2123 / 4.
