The magic of the big screen of the MiniMax is alive and well and living in PaarlPhoto: Lise Beyers

Just as many other businesses have been severely affected by the past two years of lockdown, Paarl MiniMax was forced to shut its doors a year ago.

But the good news is, with lockdown restrictions very much lifted and the worst of the Covid-19 pandemic hopefully over, this popular cinema has now permanently re-opened its doors.

“Local is lekker!” says owner Molly Minitzer. “We have to keep the lights on for the people of Paarl. We found over the holiday time that an outing to the cinema is still a popular and affordable option. We will continue to bring the big titles to the big screen. The latest Batman is being released on 4 March and loads more.”

And on 4, 5 and 6 March Life Happened will be showing, starring local talent Anele Geqiwe. (See page 12)

All Covid-19 protocols will be applied, including limited numbers of patrons during screenings.
