Mbekweni police and the Anti-Gang Unit arrest two men for being in possession of drugs.



Two men have been arrested on Wednesday (30 June) by the Mbekweni police in the Drommedaris area for being in possession of drugs. The arrests that took place at two separate residences is part of an integrated operation with the Anti-Gang unit.

A 40-year-old Nigerian national was found with 191g of Tik with a street value of R95 000. He was also charged for bribery after he offered R3 000 to police officers.

Police also busted another 40-year-old man for having eight parcels of dagga in his possession, three compressed dagga packages and 43 dagga bankies. The dagga is all worth at a street value of R12 900.

Sgt Nceba Vanqa, Mbekweni police spokesperson, says the men will appear in the Paarl Magistrates’ Court on Thursday (1 July).
