A man was found stabbed to death by his brother in Langrug Informal Settlement in Franschhoek early on Monday morning.
Franschhoek police spokesperson Sgt Marize Mentoor said the police responded to an emergency call, and on arriving at the scene they discovered the body of Momeleze Mpohla.
“Mpohla was declared dead on the scene. Two Malawian men, aged 29 and 30 years old, were taken into custody,” she said.
According to Mentoor, the suspects claimed to have acted in self defence.
She added that the one suspect told police he had used a sword in self-defence.
The two suspects appeared in the Paarl Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday on charges of murder.
