A wine from Franschhoek’s Terre Paisible recently hit centre stage at the world’s most illustrious film festival, when it was the only South African wine in an official pouring at the Cannes Film Festival on the French Riviera.

Terre Paisible, meaning Peaceful Land, lies in the heart of the Franschhoek Valley. Their wines are crafted by winemaker Adam Mason from grapes of their own vineyards, as well as carefully selected blocks with specific terroir characteristics to create their specific style.

Terre Paisible is home to one of the few official Old Vine Sauvignon Blanc vineyards, of which their first vintage will be released later this year.

The estate is currently being transformed into a luxury medical aesthetic spa, accommodation, art gallery and restaurant, which will open in stages from 2023.

Terre Paisible is also home to Vigne d’Or olive oils, which are well-endowed with accolades, such as making the ABSA Top 10.

The estate creates only limited volumes of their wines, which will soon be available from its online store terrepaisible.com and at select fine-dining establishments and specialist wine stores.
