La Rochelle Primary School proudly opened its refurbished netball courts this past weekend, also hosting a netball clinic for their u-12 and u-13 netball players under the expert tutoring of former Proteas player Dr Elsje Jordaan (left). School principal Lientjie Olivier (centre) said the previous courts were in dire need of repair and already in 2019 the school made the decision and raised funds for this purpose. There were, however, quite a few building project challenges during that time, and then Covid-19 struck. The courts, however, now have been completed, and Olivier said the school is very excited that their young sportswomen can now practise and play on these new surfaces. She also thanked all the sponsors and donors who made this project possible as well as Christiano Sassoli (right) who among other and as part of the school governing body, initiated this project.
