New to Wellington are weekly Qigong classes for those interested in calm, strength and a good night’s sleep.
The ancient practice of Qigong entails a set of gentle, repeated movements that strengthen and stretch.
The hour-long classes on Tuesday evenings are offered with all the artwork up in the Breytenbach Gallery looking down at them. Alisa Farr, a qualified Qigong instructor, teaches these classes.
She says Qigong practice helps increase calm and can help reduce anxiety and depression.
“It increases lymphatic movement and enhances balance and coordination.”
