From near and far the old and the young flocked to Paarl this past weekend for the highly anticipated Paarl Festival of Lights in Lady Grey Street. Saturday’s evening event featured a free outdoor concert with performances by both local and notable national artists, such as Karin Kortje, Ziggy, a rapper from Manenberg, Cape Town and Paarl’s very own Luda G. Drakenstein Executive Mayor Stephen Korabie facilitated the countdown to the switching on of the Christmas lights, which will light Paarl’s CBD up for the remainder of the festive season.Photo: Rasaad Adams
