Joné Groenewald, a learner from Paarl Girl’s High, and her horse, Fijnbosch Frangelica, won several prizes at the SANESA nationals championships held in Johannesburg in September. Groenewald was placed first in working riding, in hand utility and dressage test A and second in dressage test B and equitation. She placed seventh in performance riding, prix caprilli and eventing. The duo finished overall in third place at the championships. SANESA Cape Winelands also held their end of year prize-giving last weekend, where Groenewald was recognised as the top horse and rider combination in the Western Cape. They further received the trophy for the top Nooitgedacht horse and rider in South Africa for their performance at the SANESA nationals.Photo: Supplied
