Parents or guardians who are unable to apply for the 2023 admissions online, are encouraged to approach their district education office for assistance.

Online registrations for learners who will be in Grade R, Grade 1 and Grade 8 next year opened on Monday and will close on midnight 15 April. Since there are parents and guardians who are not technologically equipped to do online registrations, district education offices are commissioned to help in such situations, says Bronagh Hammond, Western Cape Education Department (WCED) spokesperson.

“The WCED asks parents that are unable to apply online to please approach the district office for assistance to register their child online. This is for cases where parents do not have access or data available.”

Schools in Drakenstein fall under the Cape Winelands Education District. Those who need assistance can either call the office of Juan Benjamin, WCED director, on 023 348 4601 or email his assistant Linda Ntlombeni via linda.ntlombeni@westerncape.gov.za. Alternatively their office in Worcester, at 9 Durban Street, can be visited.

Hammond added: “We are encouraging, however, as many parents as possible to apply online.”
