Paddy Upton presented a coaching workshop at Huguenot High School in Wellington for the teachers and coaches of the school. He has acted as mental and conditioning coach for the Indian and Protea Cricket teams and coached a number of high-profile professional sportspeople. Topics covered included building self-esteem, compared to self-confidence, the important role coaches play in pupils’ lives assisting in their decision-making skills. The importance of developing solutions and not dwelling on mistakes, creating a learning environment and how to play smartly was also discussed.
