The quick response of private security services in Franschhoek and police led to the arrest of four men after they had stolen a car during a house robbery.
The incident took place on Tuesday morning on a Franschhoek farm. After the five suspects overwhelmed the farmer and his family, the men escaped in one of his cars with various stolen items.
Pepler Alarms, which was contacted, alerted the police and various other Franschhoek security entities.
The vehicle fled in the direction of Cape Town. Due to quick responses from police and other parties, and various activations, the vehicle and two suspects were apprehended in Maitland.
Another two suspects were arrested in Franschhoek.
