The drumline of Paarl Boys’ High School entertained shoppers with their spectacular performance on Friday at Paarl Mall. People gathered in full cheer in front of Edgars when the boys started playing on their drums.
Willem Erwee, head of marketing at the school, says its drumline is well-known throughout the country. The drummers usually show their skills off before any school-related event, such as derbies, adding to the exciting atmosphere. The drumline is led by coach and teacher Berdine Goldstone.
“These talented learners even unpack dance moves while making rhythmic noises and usually attract large numbers of spectators wherever they perform.
“In a year that was once again very restrictive on opportunities for the drumline to perform, the learners decided they wanted to showcase their talents at Paarl Mall on a Friday afternoon,” Erwee added.
