A group of musicians are hosting a fundraiser tonight on P-fore Online for the local musician Ameen Levy also known as Rappin Donkey. Levy and his family lost their house in Paarl and all their belongings in a fire on 22 September.

Right after the incident Levy told Paarl Post that a forensic investigating team found that there has been an electrical shortage at one of the lights in the house. “Everything burned from the top down to the floor and everything except my bedroom was destroyed. It is the only room that has only been partially affected,” Levy said.

He was the only member of his family that was trapped in the house, while the fire was raging through the building. Levy luckily managed to escape through a broken window, injuring himself in the process. The Levy-family has been very grateful for the support they have received so far.

Tonight, on P-fore Online a great line-up of musicians that includes The Rockets and a list of DJ’s will host a special edition of Uncle Cal’s popular Midweek Jazz Matazz. The show will be live streamed between 20:00 and 23:00. The fundraiser is led by the non-profit organisation, Band Aid, along with Uncle Cal and P-fore Online. Band Aid are being managed by entertainers and art administrators who raise funds to alleviate the plight of entertainers in desperate need of financial assistance.
