Over the weekend between 28 and 30 January a total of 23 arrests were performed by Paarl police in conjunction with various other departments.

Paarl Police spokesperson Capt Louise du Plessis said their officers held various operations in the Paarl West policing area.

“On Friday (28 January) a total of ten arrests were made for drugs and the possession of stolen property.

“Just the following day (29 January), Paarl police assisted by the Boland K9 unit, Boland Pops, the Provincial Airwing and the Department of Home Affairs held various operations where premises were searched.”

This led to a total of twelve arrests during the execution of the operation based on charges of dealing in liquor and drugs and the possession of drugs.

“An arrest for driving under the influence of liquor was made by the Provincial Traffic Department on 30 January while holding a roadblock on the N1,” Du Plessis concluded.
