Drakenstein greets bursary recipients

Altogether 70 students are the new beneficiaries of Drakenstein Municipality’s bursary programme. Conrad Poole, Executive Mayor of Drakenstein Municipality, welcomed 22 of the 70 new bursary holders at a function held at the Council Chambers, Paarl Civic Centre. A total of 59 bursaries were granted to external bursary holders (locally based students), while 11 bursaries were allocated to rural bursary holders (with the emphasis on rural student development, particularly from farms). Poole said affording the youth of Drakenstein an opportunity to study further is important to the Municipality.
