A middle-aged man appeared in the Paarl Magistrates’ Court on Monday following what can only be described as an aggressive road-rage incident.
Dion Fuller (52) was released on R500 bail after appearing in court for pointing a firearm and for reckless and negligent driving.
Paarl police spokesperson Capt Louise du Plessis said the suspect allegedly pointed a firearm at the complainant after almost colliding into his vehicle at traffic lights in Long Street, Northern Paarl.
“The complainant had continued driving when the suspect pulled up next to him and pointed the firearm at him,” she related.
“Paarl police were contacted, and the suspect was stopped soon after and found in possession of a firearm, and he was arrested.”
Fuller will appear in court again on 27 May.
