After a Covid absence of two years, Franschhoek is celebrating Bastille Day on 16 and 17 July, taking place in Main Road of Franschhoek, showcasing all things French.
People are encouraged to dress-up in their finest red, white and blue, not forgetting their beret, as you soak-up all Franschhoek has to offer – great wines, delicious food and superb hospitality.
Main Road will be abuzz with activities, which include French-inspired street food offerings from the restaurants along the way. Grab a freshly baked croissant, filled baguettes, croque monsieur, moules frites or a piping hot cinnamon sugar pancake as the day’s festivities are taken in. Channel your inner Marie Antoinette or Charles de Gaulle for the day by hiring a costume. Franschhoek’s local band will add to the festive vibe throughout the weekend at the town hall. Not forgetting the region’s superb wines, which will be served from two locations – Franschhoek Cellars and The Franschhoek Square.
There people can sample wines from Franschhoek’s Vignerons. What better excuse to stock-up on wines for the winter season.
To avoid disappointment pre-order your tasting glasses and wine coupons (eight coupons per person), at R180 per person, directly through Webtickets. Additional tasting coupons will be available to purchase.
