Last week the municipality was again blowing it’s own trumpet about their achievements in the Arboretum. But they are only spending money which was given to them by a German Municipality, because they have to.
In essence they are not really giving much real attention to the Arboretum.
1. Recently another woman was attacked here in broad daylight and robbed of her belongings. Where are the new Arboretum security officers who have been employed by the municipality?
2. The municipality claim to have an alien vegetation project in place. But it is an absolute joke as on the riverside of the Arboretum, between the railway bridge and Cecilia Street, hundreds, if not thousands, of young wattle trees are growing at a frightening rate, and not a finger has been lifted to clear them.
Is the ‘upgrading’ of the Paarl Arboretum just another smoke screen of incompetence?
