Unsuspecting desperate job seekers are again being coaxed by false advertising of employment opportunities.
In the latest of such scams, locals are being sent online applications via social media alleging the Department of Health is offering paid nursing learnerships with salaries of between R7 000 and R20 000 a month.
“South African nursing learnership and free training, June 2022 intake,” the advertisement says. After indicating the process and training are totally free, on registering the job seeker will be asked by the scam artist to forward the applications to contacts in their address book before asking for a registration fee.
The Western Cape Department of Health has warned the public that this is a scam and the ad must simply be ignored.
