The artwork of Paarlite Dieuwke-Jean Linee (27) is currently being exhibited during Women’s Month at the Koena Art Institute in Observatory, Cape Town to celebrate women. The institute’s youngest female artist, her new collection is dedicated to South African women who greatly contributed to the South African landscape in their respective fields. Here Linee is with Princess Gcwalisile Cynthia Zulu-Kabanyane, also of Paarl, at the opening of the exhibition. Kabanyane’s portrait, one of Linee’ works, is seen on the wall behind them. The widow of former Drakenstein Municipal Manager and Mbekweni community stalwart Dr Sidiyma Kabanyane is founder of the charitable Qolothani Makhosiazi Social and Cultural Services and is very much involved in charity work that uplifts members of the Mbekweni community. She also works closely with some of the schools in the area, helping them cultivate vegetable gardens. Foto:
