We are really frustrated with the way Drakenstein municipality is treating us as a small company.
We did work for them in the beginning of June for an emergency roads project.
But when it came to payment time, their first excuse was that the financial year had ended and therefore they could only pay us in July. Then in July they could not generate payments because there were issues with the 2021 financial year.
Now it is August and the municipality’s latest excuse for non-payment is that they have been hacked.
For me this only smells of incompetence and laziness.
In 2021 Swartland Municipality was also hacked, but they never withheld supplier payments.
Now I wonder how they achieve clean audits with all these excuses.
Please help, we have suppliers that we also need to pay.
