Karatekas do well in final contest

The Overberg Goju-Kai had a successful year competing in several competitions. Its third and final competition for the year, held in October at Fanie Theron Primary School in Kraaifontein, Cape Town, saw more than 100 entries and was also the start of its selection process for Goju-Kai Nationals in 2023. Competing were De Wet Pretorius (Labori High School), Jamie Kock (Courtrai Primary School) and Aidan Durand (Clift College). De Wet competed in the boys’ u-15&16 category, where he received gold for kata and silver for kumite. Jamie competed in the boys’ u-13 category, for which he received gold for both kata and kumite, while Aidan competed in the boys u-15&16 category, where he achieved bronze for both kata and kumite.
