No, this is not a belated April Fool’s joke. Franschhoek tourism bodies, together with various wine farms are planning on building a cableway that will run across Franschhoek Valley.
The venture is set to start at Haute Cabriere, from where the cable car, much like the one on Table Mountain, will take visitors right across the valley to a tasting centre on a hillside slope.
Franchhoek Tourism CEO Ruth McCourt said she and other stakeholders at this stage could not share anything about the project as it was still at the environmental-impact assessment stage.
