On 30 June Col Wellington Stephans retired after serving in the South African Police Service for 37 years, the last few years as the station commander of Paarl East police. On his last day on duty Brigadier Neville Malila, the deputy Cape Winelands district commissioner, attended a gathering at the station to give Stephans one last salute together with other colleagues.
