Mia and Jenga off to nationals if sponsorship is found

Mia van Tonder, a Grade 9 learner of Paarl Gymnasium, has been competing throughout 2023 with Montago’s Jenga at Sanesa qualifiers. They have competed in numerous disciplines, including dressage, showing and equitation. Mia and Jenga have done exceptionally well throughout the year and were selected to represent Cape Winelands in the recent regionals finals held at Stellenbosch District Riding Club. At finals Mia and Jenga exceeded all expectations and walked away with 4 x 1st places (Dressage, Working Hunter, Working Riding, In Hand Utility) 2 x 2nd places (2nd Dressage test and Prix Caprilli) and 2 x 3rd places (Performance Riding and Equitation). Mia and Montago’s Jenga were the top-ranked horse-and-rider partnership in the Cape Winelands and tied highest scorer for the entire Western Cape. They have been selected to represent Western Cape at the nationals, which will be held in Johannesburg in October this year. Nationals is quite a big expense – transport costs alone is phenomenal – and support from Paarl will be appreciated.
