Overberg Goju-Kai and Francois du Plessis, Shihan hosted their End of the Year Celebration. Karateka and their families came together to celebrate 2023 and their dojo’s achievements. The following students received trophies: Behind (from left): Allan & Elmarie Schultz (Instructors Award for Dedicated Service to the Dojo), Rebecca Shelly (Warrior Female), MJ Eygelaar (Most Improved Senior), Tredoux Nigrini Sensei (Yondan-4th black belt), Francois du Plessis Shihan, Shaun van den Berg (Warrior Male), Ruan van Zyl (Sportsman of the Year), Roger Johnson (Shodan-1st black belt) and Nadine Rix (Most Dedicated Senior). Front from left: Mia Simmers (Best Overall Karateka and Best Achievement), Ava Pietersen (Junior Club Champion), Pieter le Roux (Most Improved Junior Male), Regardt Eyberg (Best Overall Improvement), Emily Krohn (Most Improved Junior Female) and Zahra Loxton (Best Overall Karateka).
