Nuwe polisiestasie: Die ou woonhuis wat die afgelope 50 jaar as die polisiestasie in die Paarl gedien het, staan tans leeg. Die 80-jarige gebou in Lady Greystraat is ontruim toe die laaste van die polisie hul intrek in die nuwe polisiekantoor op die oewer van die Bergrivier geneem het. Die geboue-kompleks is opgerig teen R800 000. Al die afdelings van die polisie is nou op een perseel. Voorheen was die kantore in drie verskillende geboue gehuisves.
Child born at court: An unknown woman gave birth to a child in the courtyard of the Magistrate’s Court last week. The woman was sitting on a court bench next to the courtroom when she started getting severe labour pains. She was taken to the courtyard at the back of the courtroom where the child was born soon afterwards. Other women helped to deliver the baby which did not survive. The woman was taken by ambulance to Paarl Hospital.

Voordat die voorrade na die rampgeteisterde gebied gestuur kon word, het die Sentrale Fonds laat weet dat daar nie meer behoefte aan sulke artikels was nie. Die organiseerders van die Paarlse Fonds het besluit om die voorrade aan die ACVV-takke hier te gee wat dit dan na goeddunke aan minderbevoorregtes sal uitdeel. Die Paarlse Fonds het R1 700 aan die Sentrale Fonds gestuur.
Man shot in the head: A man was shot in the head and is lying in the Paarl Hospital under police guard. The man underwent an emergency operation. He was arrested after the car of another man had been stolen from outside his home. The stolen car was pursued by a police van and a private car when the fleeing car was cornered. It stopped and the driver jumped out and fled. He refused to obey commands to stop and shots were fired. One struck him in the head and he stopped. Another man found in the car was also arrested.
