One man died while others were critically injured in a serious collision in Main Road, Paarl, on Saturday morning.
Paarl police spokesperson Capt Louise du Plessis said an investigation into possible culpable homicide had been launched.
She said: “A passenger died and the driver of a Polo Vivo sustained serious injuries when their vehicle collided with a Fortuner on the corner of Turk and Main roads in the early morning hours of Saturday 30 July.
“It is alleged the Polo was driving in the Main Road at around 01:00, in the Southern Paarl direction when the driver of the Fortuner entered the Main Road via Turk Street and the vehicles collided.” Both drivers and a Fortuner passenger sustained serious injuries.
