A man (45) from Mantshilibeni locality in Dutywa is expected to appear before the Dutywa Magistrate’s Court in connection of fatally shooting his brother under unknown circumstance yesterday, on March 3.
In a media statement communicated by SAPS, Police spokesperson, Warrant Officer Majola Nkohli said it is alleged that on the night of the incident around 00:30 police were summoned to a complaint of murder at Mantshilibeni location in Dutywa, when they arrived, they were shown the body of a man who was covered with a blanket.
“The body had a gunshot wound in the upper body.
” The deceased person is known but his identity is withheld until a formal identification process is concluded,” said Nkohli.
“A family relative was arrested at the scene and his licensed firearm was confiscated for ballistic investigation,” added Nkohli.
He said that at this stage, the circumstances surrounding the incident are forming part of the investigation.
