NGQAMAKHWE City FC and Walter Sisulu University Bika Campus FC (WSU FC) are the sides which are yet to taste defeat in SAFA Amathole Men’s Regional League this season.

Those two top teams who ply their trade in Amathole Men’s Regional League under Mnquma Stream still hold their unbeaten run since the season started last year.

Ngqamakhwe City FC, from Ngqamakhwe town, is leading the regional league standings with 14 points after they defeated bottom side FC Montego by 2–0 away, over the weekend.

The weekend results have helped the Ngqamakhwe team to remain on top of the log standings after six games.

Centane team Musketeers FC continue to chase the top spot, as they registered their fourth victory of the season on Saturday, when they defeated their neighbours Kentane United FC by 2–0 to remain in second place with 13 points in six games.

WSU FC has occupied third place with some 13 points, after they collected three points against bottom side Mnquma Hotspurs FC on Friday afternoon, winning 2–0 at Msobomvu Sport Ground, and have one game in hand as they played five matches, compared to other teams who have played six so far this season.

As things look for now, Ngqamakhwe City FC, Musketeers FC, WSU FC, and FC Relatives, who occupy ourth place in the log standings, are the only sides that have a good chance of competing for top spot.

There is still a small chance for other teams to compete for the title as the season is in round one and approaching the second.

In the Mnquma Regional League Stream there are 10 teams competing for the title, and the team finishing on top will go to the SAB Promotion Playoffs.

In other Amathole Men’s Regional League fixtures over the weekend, Ngqamakhwe United 1–0 Centane Rockets FC, FC Tshabalala 0–0 FC Relatives.

Fixtures for this weekend starting from Friday will see Mnquma Hotspurs FC host Ngqamakhwe United FC at Msobomvu Sports Ground and Saturday afternoon Ngqamakhwe City FC will entertain Kentane United at Ngqamakhwe and WSU FC will host Rockets FC at WSU ground.
