He has been to China representing the Eastern Cape, and learning clothing techniques, to Jacksonville in the United States of America attending the World of Nations Arts fair, gaining knowledge and skill. Now Tase Jack is back in East London, ready to dish up the second installment of Fashionable Nights by Tase Jack.

Eighty percent of the show’s tickets are already sold, and the event is set to take place at East London’s chic Kofini & Co in Esplanade Road on the 6th of September.

Jack described this event as an evening where creatives, influencers and fashion lovers come out to network over drinks and enjoy wearable art.

“People must expect a night of fun and fashion. But they will be blown away by our local creatives who will be showcasing their fabulous works of art”.

He said he started the show last year, and it went exceptionally well. He foresaw more fashionable nights in the future.

Chatting to the Mthatha Express about his journey in fashion, Jack said “As a child I enjoyed playing with girls but my grandmother would not buy me dolls because I was a boy. She would, instead, buy me toy cars and guns. I had to create my own dolls and make their clothes, and that’s when the fashion designing bug bit and my journey as a stylist began”

In 2018 Jack entered a designing competition and fashion connoisseur Gert Johan Coetzee spotted his work and selected him to be one of his interns for a period of six months. “To date, I have shared a stage with giant brands in fashion such as David Tlale, Maxhosa and Thula Sindi,” he said.

Even though he is based in East London, he shares his acquired knowledge with the community of Dimbaza, where he grew up. Through beauty pageants, he coaches young girls and exposes them to different avenues within the fashion industry where they get to generate income for themselves while also getting the experience of the runway.
