The Mthatha Community Art Centre will be hosting a two-day art gallery exhibition and festival from October 6 – 7.
The centre’s chairperson, Thandeka Vabaza said that the event will include live music performances, such as theatre productions, dance, poetry, film screening and modelling.
The art gallery opening will take place on October 6 at 18:00, while the festival on October 7 will be held from 10:00.
“Since we have a good relationship with other art centres across the province, we decided to involve them so that they can also participate,” said Vabaza.
He added that the aim of the event is to uplift artists in the Eastern Cape.
“We want to promote the creative sector within the community, while also developing the art audience in the King Sabatha Dalindyebo Local Municipality. We urge all arts and crafts stall owners to come and display their products at the festival.”
