Alfred Nzo District Municipality (ANDM) has launched a new official Facebook page, titled Alfred Nzo DM, after more than a month since their previous page was hacked.
According to the statement issued by Alfred Nzo District Municipality, on April 25, this municipality issued a statement notifying the public about their hacked Facebook Page.
After numerous attempts to recover the Page through reporting the matter to Facebook Meta Headquarters, as well as their Information and Communication technology (ICT) Department’s tireless efforts to reclaim and restore the Facebook Page have failed, they have now resolved to open a new Facebook Page titled Alfred Nzo DM.
“We urge the public to consider the hacked Facebook Page as non-existent and disregard all content posted therein, which doesn’t have to do with the Alfred Nzo District Municipality values and principles. The new official Facebook Page for Alfred Nzo District Municipality is Alfred Nzo DM.
It is only through this official page that the public will continue to receive information about the municipality’s programs and activities. Alfred Nzo District Municipality and its ICT Department will ensure that the new Facebook Page is secured and that there are strong verification methods to access the account in order to avoid being hacked again,” the statement read.
They urged members of the public to share widely the details of the new ANDM Facebook Page, like the Page, and invite friends and family to also like the Page.
Let them grow the new page together and ensure that people of Alfred Nzo receive accurate and relevant information about service delivery work of the municipality.
