According to police spokesperson Sergeant Majola Nkohli, Van Onselen was convicted of assault with the intent to do grievous bodily harm on Thursday, June 20 of this year.
“He assaulted a customer with a ‘knobkierie’ (a stick with a knob) inside his business premises in Main Street Humansdorp on Friday, December 16, 2016 after the two had an argument.
“Following the decision of a Se-nior Public Prosecutor to prosecute Van Onselen, he first appeared in court on Wednesday, April 11, 2018.”
