WINE-lovers can look forward to sampling some of the country’s best wines at the third annual Winter Wine and Craft Drink Expo.

The expo will feature some of South Africa’s best wines, craft gins, craft beer, rum and tequila in an indoor setting.

“The event started as a wine tasting, but with so many exciting new craft distilleries across the country, of which many of the distillers are surfers who just love to come to Jeffreys Bay this time of the year, the event quickly escalated to something bigger,” says Lucy Erasmus from J-Bay Bru Co.

“The wine tasting turned into a wine and beer tasting, then came the craft gin. This year we are excited to add rum and tequila to the line-up.

“We are excited to have Miles Mossop, Rudi Shultz and Newton Johnson back for a third time, as well as St Francis brewery and Poison City from Durban on the beer side.”

There will also be a variety of street food: potjie, pizza, burgers and paella.

There will be live music by Therese and Dave.

The expo will take place at J-Bay Bru Co from 17:30 on Friday, June 29.

Tickets cost R100 per person prior to the event and are available at J-Bay Bru Co. Tickets at the door will cost R120 per person. Expo-goers will receive a branded glass at the door.
